Este projecto de reabilitação de um edifício de pedra-e-cal pertencente ao conjunto edificado Patrimonial da Ilha de Moçambique apresentava-se em ruína com alterações que desvalorizaram o imóvel em termos de autenticidade. Após um estudo in situ e dos registos históricos, foi possível resgatar elementos arquitectónicos do edifício original. O novo programa, permitiu intercalar volumes entre espaços abertos e fechados que reflectem uma forma de habitar cuja importância reside no usufruto dos espaços exteriores.

This rehabilitation project of a stone-and-lime building listed as heritage of Ilha de Moçambique, initially in ruins, exhibited alterations to the building that devalued the property in terms of authenticity. After a careful in situ and historical records assessment, it was possible to restore architectural elements of the original building. The new brief layout allowed the interleaving of volumes within open and closed spaces that reflect a way of living where the aim lies in the enjoyment of outdoor spaces.
