O projecto surgiu da necessidade do Centro Comercial Marés expandir para acomodar um espaço comercial do Builders Warehouse. Teve como principais desafios, articular as circulações e o estacionamento do Centro existente com a nova construção, e encontrar compromissos entre os vários intervenientes, incluindo os moradores do condomínio e lojistas.

Foi igualmente importante adaptar os sistemas construtivos e materiais padronizados pelo Builders, ao projecto de ampliação do centro comercial Marés e ao contexto Moçambicano.

The project arises from the need for expansion of the Marés Shopping Mall to accommodate a new retail area for Builders Warehouse.  The project's main challenge was to improve the shopping mall´s traffic flow and parking, maintaining the logic and functionality of the existing retail areas while also finding compromises with all existing retail and housing tenants that are part the shopping mall´s building complex. It was also important to adapt the bespoke construction systems and materials used by Builders Warehouse, to the existing building and Mozambican context.
